“Joy is possible for our children, if enough people show that they care.”

Imagine a group of little children traveling down the road to adulthood.  Some of the children are moving along at great speed, enjoying the experience of learning and growing.  Other children are moving at a more modest pace, but still enjoying the journey.  Then there is a group of children who are really struggling.  It seems that each one is dragging a ball-and-chain and can’t move very well.  If you could, wouldn’t you want to remove that ball-and-chain and set them free?  They are at risk of failing, of giving up.  They are at risk of loosing opportunities toward academic success.  They are at risk of failing in human relationships and in their potential to access, develop and demonstrate their innate gifts that they are meant to share with society.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

IF YOU ARE A CALIFORNIA CORPORATION, please read this entire website, discover, and then decide how you can contribute to improving the quality of future business and its contribution to society.  Have a heart, and support the most precious natural resource in our community, our children.  They may be your future employees.

FYI -- DID YOU KNOW…

·        Since the 1990’s United States high school students have ranked 27th in international scores for language, math and science.

·        High school students in the state of California rank 47th in national academic achievement tests.

·        17 million students are assessed every year in the United States with a learning challenge like ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder).

·        Of these 17 million students, 2 million enter kindergarten each year with autism, a more severe neurological disorder, which brings with it even greater academic struggles along with emotional volatility and social difficulties.

You could be saving the academic career of a young athlete; you could be saving a brilliant mind from suicide; you could be providing a talented artist with the very thing s/he needs to grow their God given gifts into dreams that could transform society.

It is highly suspected that Michelangelo had a form of autism.  Did you know that Einstein’s mother had to pay for a tutor nearly every year until her son was 19 years old because of his difficulty in math?  Your year-end donation of $7,500 to “adopt a student” is tax deductible, and requires “no addendum” by the IRS because Possibility Kids™ is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) Corporation.  Kindly contact Georgia Connor if you wish to have a corporate presentation.  Otherwise, your generous donation can be sent to:

IF YOU ARE A PARENT…

If you suspect your child has a learning challenge with or without severe emotional volatility, please ask yourself the following questions.  How would your home life change if your child had true inner peace and harmony?  How would your child’s life change if s/he had confidence in school and positive self-expression?  Is your child worth having the very best technology and affirmative teaching?  Call Georgia Connor today and set up an appointment at (805) 375-9200.

Co-pay scholarships are presently available to students who yearn to be better in school and whose parents are not able to pay the full price of EEG (Electroencephalogram) training sessions.  Also, if you work for a California corporation, invite your employer to consider investing in California’s greatest natural resource, our children.  They can do this by contacting Michael W. Guarnieri, C.P.A.

A TOTAL LEARNING PROGRAM

Neuroscience, Advanced Biofeedback technology, nutrition and learning skills are integrated into a multi-modality approach for holistic learning.  Georgia K. Connor is a neuroscientist who is the only “Learning Specialist” certified in the field of neurofeedback.  She has designed accelerated learning techniques to be used while individuals are on the EEG computer.  She has had unprecedented results in her private practice utilizing this method of teaching.  When brainwaves for certain kinds of learning are self-regulated by the student on the computer, that is the time we engage in any of the following: listening, speech, writing the alphabet and numbers, art, creative writing, reading and comprehension, math, science, and/or “The MindMoves Seven Steps to Memorization” (for spelling, text, and studying for tests).  We also teach “I Messages” for communication skills, and/or “Peace Promotion” for the home and school environments.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

We provide individualized assessments of each student’s inner life, family experience, and school activities to understand their effects on the mind-body system.  We design a team for holistic health including a pediatrician, an endocrinologist, a nutritionist, teachers, and other health care and educational professionals in addressing the role of diet, health, and stress reduction for the child.

For school-aged children 4 to 19 years old, we will engage in the following procedures:

·        IVA, CPT, Intermediate Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test.

·        EEG Biofeedback or Brainwave Assessment and Training for the following: autism, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, depression, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, insomnia, memory, neuro-toxicity, performance anxiety, PTSD (post traumatic         stress disorder), and substance abuse.

·        Advanced Biofeedback and Bioresonance Assessment and Therapy.  This is a powerful non-invasive therapy closely related to acupuncture and homeopathy (without the needles), which can assist in identifying nutritional deficiencies, allergic reactions to medication, vaccine reactions and other biological, environmental and ontological stressors that contribute to poor performance and behavioral problems.

·        Progressive Reports regarding the impact of treatment and training from the child’s perspective.  (SCL-90, Symptoms Check List, POMS, Learning Styles Assessment, Georgia Connor’s Blood Sugar Symptoms Check List, Heavy Metal and Neuro-toxicity Check List.)

·        Progressive Reports from parents and interested teachers.  (ASQ-P, ASQ-T, and if the child cannot answer the above questionnaires, the parents will answer, SCL-90, Symptoms Check List, POMS, Learning Styles Assessment, Georgia Connor’s Blood Sugar Symptoms Checks List, Heavy Metal and Neuro-toxicity Check list.

·        MindMoves™ Light and Sound Technology is specifically designed to accelerate learning in the following areas: listening, auditory processing, speech, hand-eye co-ordination, spelling, reading and comprehension, memorization of words, and meditation.

·        Individual Nutritional Guidelines are designed.  This may include the introduction of a biologically activated form of zinc, which has proven results in balancing blood sugar, and reducing headaches and stomachaches related to autism, hyperactivity and syndrome X.

·        Allergy, Endocrine and Neurotransmitter Testing may be recommended.  Enzymatic deficiencies may also be addressed.

·        Natural Nutriceuticals are specifically designed to gently detox the brain and body for more energy, mental clarity, emotional balance and greater cognitive functioning.

·        Affirmative Self-talk, and daily encouragement with rewards that support the building of self-esteem, academic progress and peace promotion in a loving environment.

·        Music, creative play, drawing, creative writing, and MindMovesneuro-repatterning practices based on kinesiology encourage creative self-expression.

·          Family Dynamics are offered supporting parental guidelines for firm, consistent, and fair discipline-with-consequences by agreement.

WHAT IS THE MINDMOVES™ ACCELERATED LEARNING PROGRAM?

The MindMoves™ Accelerated Learning Program is an interactive, holistic, multi-modality approach to learning which provides a refreshing environment where individuals “tune-in” to their own thinking processes.  They learn to recognize where their attention is and where it needs to be in order to successfully perform specific academic tasks.  This program has had unprecedented results in the setting of a private practice.  Emotional balance, mental clarity and the raising of IQ are only three of many attainable goals.  This approach to learning includes: neurofeedback, advanced biofeedback, bioresonance therapy, nutrition, sensory integration practices, learning skills, and the use of a portable personal training instrument which ensures more rapid progress.

An inherent part of the MindMoves™ program is the identification and appropriate testing for heavy metals, environmental chemicals, molds, electromagnetic stressors, blood sugar, allergies and food sensitivities, hormone disorders, neurotransmitter imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, enzymatic deficiencies, and numerous other variables that can influence cognitive function.

It is a common misconception that once toxins are removed brain function returns to “normal”.  This simply is not true.  The brain gets set in patterns and circuitry.  Brainwave training gets the brain “unstuck,” especially with regard to depression, insomnia, pain and learning.  The MindMoves™ program provides greater functionality than demonstrated prior to training and it is permanent in the majority of cases.

The MindMoves™ practices include computer-centered activities as well as daily exercises done away from the computer.  Individual MindMoves™ may become lifetime techniques that remind the mind-body of what to do when there is a need to re-focus, re-center, re-energize, heighten short-term memory, and enhance creative expression or problem solving.

WHAT MAKES THE MINDMOVES™ ACCELERATED LEARNING PROGRAM SUPERIOR to other neurofeedback, biofeedback or learning enhancement programs?  The program includes a training tool for learning that speeds and deepens the impact of neurofeedback.  Other neurofeedback and/or biofeedback programs are medical or psychological-based services.  This is both the first multi-modality program of its kind, including the latest in learning skills, neurofeedback protocols, and sensory integration practices with portable instruments.

Historically, many young students have to repeat the spelling of a word or the performance of a task with a tutor 2,000 or more times before they can do it on their own, or before “they get it.”  The MindMoves™ approach is more immediate and swift.  For instance, when a student is “ready to learn spelling,” they begin on Monday, using the MindMoves™ Seven Steps to Memorization,” with the light and sound instrument.  By Friday’s exam the student is ready to “ace-it,” provided they have practiced correctly four times prior to the exam.

The MindMoves™ ALP is the first program that provides remediation for certain symptoms of dyslexia and phonological processing differences.  This process raises the reading level of these challenged individuals.

HOW IS IT DONE?

An initial interview is done to obtain a description of symptoms, and to get a picture of health history and family history.  Some testing is done.  And the person does the first EEG or neurofeedback training session, at which time we get a look at the EEG.  This may take up to four hours.  Subsequent training sessions will last from one to four hours, depending on the age and complexity of the individual, their situation, and their desired goals.

Best results occur with intensive training which consists of one or two sessions per day, two to four days a week for the first fourteen sessions.  Thirty to sixty sessions are usually required for permanent change.  Once learning is consolidated, the benefit appears to be permanent in most cases.  Periodic “tune-ups” are recommended according to individual needs.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TRAINING SESSION?

Neurofeedback training is a painless, non-invasive procedure.  One or more sensors are placed on the scalp, and one on each ear.  The brain waves are monitored by means of an amplifier and a computer-based instrument that processes the signal and provides the proper feedback.  This is displayed to the trainee by means of a video game or other video display, along with audio signals.  The trainee is asked to discover what kind of attention and thinking he must attend to, in order to make the video game go.  As activity in the desirable frequency band increases, the video game moves faster, or some other reward is given.  Gradually, the brain responds to the cues that are being given, and the “learning” of a new brain wave pattern takes place.  The new pattern is one that is closer to what is normally observed in individuals without such disabilities.  This provides an opportunity for the development of new skills that were previously unavailable to the conscious mind.

WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is brainwave training.  Brainwave training is a learning strategy that enables a person to alter their brainwaves.  When information about a person’s own brainwave characteristics is made available to him, he can learn to change them.  Think of it as exercise for the brain.  Increased blood flow enhances brain functioning and raises cognitive abilities.  In the words of Dr. George VonHilsheimer, neurofeedback is “a simple, non-invasive, non-addicting, non-poisonous, not harmful training method which works rapidly and splendidly.”

A BRIEF HISTORY OF BIOFEEDBACK

Biofeedback (from the Greek word, bios, meaning life) focuses on information a person receives from their body.  Biofeedback has come a long way since the 1970’s when NASA Astronauts used the technology in their training programs at Cape Kennedy and Houston.  The efficacy of neurofeedback training (using information received from the brain) has won the confidence of The Canadian Health Care System and Mayo Clinic to the tune of multi-million-dollar investments to offset the costs of senior health care and stress related disorders.  Neurofeedback has proven success in private settings and research studies around the globe.
